HOW TO SHOP FOR CHILDREN’S CLOTHING

It is true for everybody that there comes a point in life when their parents say to them, “You did not come with instructions!” When this was said to us, our expectations were that our parents knew what they have to do.

We felt this way as we didn’t know better. But, when the tables are turned and you are the parent, you totally understand what they were saying to you all those years ago.

In this article you are going to find a little help, a sort of instruction manual,” on how you can deal with a very important aspect of children’s lives, i.e., clothing. There are a few very important things to consider while choosing clothes for your child. Let’s take a look at them, one at a time.

1. Gender – The gender of your baby is very important when determining the clothes that you buy him/her. This may sound redundant but it is a very good place to get started. You need to know the gender of clothing that you are in search of.

2. Age – Most of the clothing for kids is differentiated using age groups. For example, some clothes may be for babies, say three to six months old and others may be for little kids, say three years old. These sizes have been calculated over a long period and is the standard in the baby clothing industry. As long as you remember how old your baby is, you should not have any problems.

3. Weather – Children are severely affected by the climate. Thus, it is imperative that you have clothing for your children for every different climate. You can break the clothes down into different season, like summer & winter and the few months in between.

4. Expect a mess – When you go out to shop for clothes for your baby, it is quite natural that you would want him/her to be the best dressed kid on the block. This is not bad, but you should remember that children are usually very messy individuals. They soil themselves, spit up food, throw up & do many other things which are sure to spoil their clothes.

Thus, it is recommended to buy them good clothes, but make sure that they aren’t too expensive. These are a few simple things which, if you keep in mind, are most certainly going to help you with getting the right clothes for your baby.

HOW TO DEVELOP THE RIGHT WAY TO WEAR CLOTHING

If a child is allowed to wear his/her favorite clothes then dressing can become quite an enjoyable experience for children as well as for the parents. They could be allowed to dress up as their favorite superheroes or as their most loved cartoon characters or even as characters from video games which they love.

The main thing to remember is to allow the child himself/herself to have a say in the clothes that you buy for him/her. This will make it more interesting for the children and also ensure that you do not have to make all the choices.

If the child has clothes which are comfortable and which he/she likes then he/she is going to enjoy dressing up a lot more and may even start dressing up on his/her own. Here are a few tips to remember which are going to make your child enjoy dressing up on his/her own a lot more and properly too :-

1. If you are handing down clothes from the older child to the younger one then you should let the younger one decorate the clothes as he or she sees fit. Let him/her put patches of his/her choice on the clothes and this would also let the clothes look unique and like they are new.

2. Take a decision on the clothes that your child is going to wear when attending formal or special occasions. Explain to the child that even though he/she can have a say in the clothes

3. Tape pictures of the clothes (like socks, shirts, pants, etc.) inside drawers onto them. This will help younger children know where his/her clothes are and will also help him/her to figure out on his/her own on which part of the body each garment goes.

4. Make your children choose what they are going to wear the previous night.
After choosing the clothes you should make them lay the clothes out on a chair. This helps children get ready a lot faster in the mornings for school.

5. Make the boring, tedious process of wearing clothes into a game of some sort in order to make it more enjoyable and entertaining. Try having races to see who can get dressed the fastest. he/she wears everyday, when it comes time for important events, they need to dress appropriately.

TIPS YOU MUST KNOW TO PROTECT YOUR COTTON CLOTHING

Washing machines are able to dry anything from your usual laundry to comforters, pillows and shoes. You just have to choose the right cycle to wash it under and how best to protect the object you are to wash. Also, the washing machine you use important.

If you have a top loader and agitator then you should try and refrain from washing cotton clothes which are delicate. Older model top loaders are very scary. In this case, you should prefer to wash the clothes by hand. But, if you have a front loader, it will be much more gentle on your clothes.

If you want to protect your clothes then you should make sure you use a delicate washing cycle. This cycle does not tumble clothes inside rapidly and thus wear and tear on the clothes is much lesser. A lot of people prefer using the gentle cycle of washing when delicate fabrics are concerned. Just ensure you do not use harsh cleaning solutions like bleach. Front loaders are much more efficient when cleaning. There is a larger infusion of cleaning solution into the clothes fabric.
If your clothing is very delicate, bleaching it could spoil it. You should use mild cleaning lotions instead. There are a few companies which also include net bags with their washers.

You can put the delicate clothes inside this bag and then put them for wash with your regular clothes. This is excellent for protecting it from wear and tear.If you did not get one with your machine then you can make one of your own.Just buy a net bag and sow a zipper and pouch into it. This is how to effectively use it:

Put your delicate clothing inside the bag. If you have to remove stains then you should pre-treat it with stain solution & put some on the infected area too just before putting it for wash. Then place it in the washer and program the cycle. Make sure you only use cold temperature cycles as the clothes might get damaged because of the heat. After this you can use the delicate cycle.

This bag can also be used for underwear and other laundry items which may have buckles or buttons to ensure that they do not come loose or get caught in other clothes you are washing. Try this to clean your clothing. These net bags should be a simple answer to your dilemma.

WEAR CLOTHING IN YOUR OWN WAY ( FOR KIDS)

One of the greatest joys for any parent is to see your child get dressed on his/her own. This can be quite a happy site early in the morning and could make your day. If you want your child to be able to dress himself/herself up properly then here are a few tips that you could consider following in order to ensure that your child dresses up on his/her own and properly too :-

1. You should start looking or reading weather reports along with your children. This has two benefits. First of all, it will help your child with his/her vocabulary and it is also going to help them to find out what the weather is going to be like the next day. Depending on the weather, they could decide whether they want to wear a t-shirt & shorts or long sleeves & jeans or capris & a top.

2. You can ask your child to start setting his/her clothes out on the previous night itself. This helps in saving you valuable time in the morning which would otherwise go fighting with the child to change what he is wearing as this would have already happened the previous night.

3. Try and ensure that your child does not have many clothes that they cannot handle themselves. Some children may have problems with zippers, others may find buttons to be a menace and thus, you should ensure that your child does not have any clothes which they cannot open or close on their own.

4. You should ask your child to also choose and learn to wear his/her own footwear. Socks and shoes are also a part of getting dressed and should be included by the child in the process. If you do not allow shoes inside your house then you should teach your child to keep them ready near the door so that they can speedily put them on and leave for school in the morning.

5. One thing that people tend to overlook or not consider a part of dressing is toilette. Remember that a child is never fully dressed until he/she has combed his/her hair, brushed his/her teeth and (if it is summer) applied sun tan on his/her arms & feet.

If you ensure that all of this is being done then you can rest assured that you will be waking up with a big smile on your face every morning.

CLOTHING FOR TEENAGERS

Quite often, for teenagers’ parents any shopping for clothing turns into a hurricane of emotions, not always positive. Perhaps, it can be based on a financial situation of the family, the requirements for school clothes, and the different taste of the child with whom the parents can argue on what to wear that finally leads to controversy. Teenagers often manipulate their parents by comparing their clothes with their friends’ ones or completely refusing to wear already bought clothing chosen by their parents. And, somehow, they are right. The fact is that in teen’s groups the clothing is a kind of a uniform. The point here is neither in fashion nor taste. By certain combination of clothing, teens show their position in society or their addiction that gives a signal to their peers. Perhaps, that is exactly like an expensive watch brand required for a trophy person aged 40, just ragged on the knees jeans or solid metal chain are necessary in 14 years. However, it is up to you to explain to a teenager that no need to adjust to a company where you are valued only for the clothing brand and, sooner or later, he will certainly understand that. But, there no use to ban teens wearing hot teen’s clothing. You should try to combine the demands of the teen and the necessary wardrobe.
Try to follow some tips. Divide the wardrobe of your child on school (formal) and after-school wear (for going out). In their free time children should be allowed to wear what they like. Even, if their clothing looks like a picture of a chimpanzee, it can be that outfit in which the children would feel themselves comfortable among their peers. At the same time, the teenager should be taught how to combine things and where and what kind of clothing would be appropriate. If he/she wants to experiment with the clothing, e.g. to embroider or cut out something or pour some paint from a container on the tee-shirt or jeans, offer your child to experiment with a worn part of the wardrobe, this can develop a gift of a designer. Also, you can help your son put the rivets on his hot outfit and sew a wristband or to show your daughter the secrets of cutting and creating accessories. However, if you believe that green is the most beautiful color, do not try to make your child sure of it, rely on his/her vision of the world. Let your child choose the color spectrum of the wardrobe on his/her own. If you want to save money on clothing, explain why your daughter has to wear your sweatshirt, let her learn the value of money. Let your child sew or invent his/her outfit, discuss with him/her the latest issues of fashion and style, it will help them in the future. Teens’ tastes in clothing may vary, and it is not necessary that a Goth girl will wear gloomy clothes for the rest of her days. In a year her outfits will change into bright and colorful ones and you should understand these changes.
